A strong field of compacts are set to spray some clay at Goulburn Speedway this Saturday night for round one of the New South Wales Compact Speedcar Pointscore Series.
Heading the line up is last seasons club champion Rob Eyeington driving his Stealth/Suzuki GSXR. The challenges will come from Rookie of the year Lee Stokes in the Infinity/Suzuki GSXR, ACT’s Darren Margules (Jackson/Mazda) and Gavin Gay (Foster/Suzuki GSXR). Gavin was lucky to walk away from last weekends Wangaratta meeting in one piece after a bearing in the steering box shattered just after the start of hot laps sending the car towards the wall. Gavin manhandled the racer and kept it off the fence.
Not to be discounted will be Compact Speedcars senior citizen, Cyril Robinson aboard the TCR/Yamaha R1, Alan Day will debut his new mount the XXX/Suzuki GSXR. Steven Hawksworth will revert to his brother Darrens Stealth/Datsun for this meeting while he waits on the finishing touches to his KHP/Yamaha FZR. Daniel Coulstock has the weekend off from his volunteer duties with the RFS and will debut his Murphy/Suzuki GSXR.
Gates open at 4.00pm with on track action set to start at 6.00pm.
